Sup Tulang Merah, is a beloved Singaporean comfort food made with mutton or beef bone marrow, spices, and herbs. It was first introduced in Singapore in the 1950s at an Indian Muslim stall along Jalan Sultan which was run by a stallholder named Abdul Kadir. The dish gets its distinctive red color from the use of red chili, which we @ DelishByMe need to reduce to tone down the spiciness. We uses tomato puree, chili sauce and natural red food coloring to replicate the intense red gravy.
The soup is slow-cooked for hours to extract the rich flavors and collagen from the bones, making it a nutritious and flavorful treat, perfect for this cold weather.
